Itinerary

Day 1: Naadam Festival Day

Head to the Naadam Festival, watch the opening ceremony, view traditional wrestling matches, visit archery field, watch horse racing competition.

Day 2: Drive to White Stupa

Drive to Dundgovi and explore the White Stupa formations, you have the option to climb to the top here.

Day 3: Hiking to the Yol Canyon

Visit Yol Canyon, experience a small museum where you will learn about the valley and wildlife there, hike, explore the valley on horseback.

Day 4: Camel Riding to the Khongor Sand Dunes

Visit the Khongor sand dunes that are the largest in Mongolia, ride a two-humped camel and take pictures of the dunes, hike, enjoy sunset and hear the singing sands that make a unique sound when the grains of sand rub against each other.

Day 5: Khavtsgait Valley

Visit the Amraa family, see Buyan Lama’s meditation monastery, explore ancient petroglyphs that show culture and tradition from the Bronze and Stone Ages, aid the Amraa family in chores, pick up dung, herd sheep on horseback or motorcycle, milk cows, make dinner, learn a traditional Mongolian song.

Day 6: Drive to Bayanzag

Explore Bayanzag where many dinosaur fossils are found, hike and look for fossils, learn how to distinguish fossils from Gobi stones.

Drive back to Ulaanbaatar.

Day 8: Drive to Terelj National Park

Drive to the Genghis Khan statue where stairs lead to the top of the horse’s head, drive to Terelj National Park, visit the famous Ariyabal Buddhist Meditation Temple, drive back to Ulaanbaatar.
